Service wasn't so hot. We went from having to flag down a waiter to get drinks ordered to a feeling of being rushed (the drinks finally came after the appetizers). One of two steaks were cooked correctly, the second being a little overdone. This place has a great ambiance but don't be surprised if the final product comes up short.

Barberian's has had it's ups and downs over the years. Recently it has been on an up trend, offering some of the best steak eating experiences in Toronto. However, the last couple of visits have knocked it off its perch as the best steak house in Toronto due to some inconsistent steaks. We feel this will be a short lived short coming and still enjoy dining there.

A great find in Vancouver. If they don't get your steak right, they will try again until they do! Probably not policy (or maybe it is), but my Chicago steak took 3 tries to get it right, and when they did, it was awesome! Friendly bartenders and wait staff help pass the time while waiting or simply having a drink.

What's better than a steak you cook yourself? Some say cooking your own steak on a 725 degree hot rock is! We tried it at Stonegrill and loved it. This restaurant is a diamond in the rough in the evolving Cabbagtown area of Toronto, on the site of the former Winchester Arms Hotel. Definitely worth the trip, and very reasonably priced with friendly, knowledgable and courteous staff.

The steak was good, but their wine list incorrectly labelled a standard French Bordeaux as a St-Emillion and charged a premium for it (and the staff did not understand the difference).
